RELAIS
The term relais, of French origins, indicated the place where the soldiers changed their horses exhausted from the long journey.
Right there, where Relais Ruggiero stands today, an ancient building existed in the past which must have been a change station or post office, a relaxier where the soldiers refreshed themselves in view of the lookout shifts.
As evidence of its origin, a few tens of meters from the structure, you can see the ruins of a watchtower dating back to the Norman era

The sweet sound of the word relais evokes soft, relaxing scenarios, hidden from the eyes of the world and from the din of its tram.Â
In fact, the structure is immersed in the vegetation between crops of Olive and grain, solarium and swimming pool, in an area that still has archaeological particularities escapes the fabrications of mass tourism.
Access to a cove is reserved for guests where it is possible to make mud baths, where the clear and transparent seabed offers the opportunity to get in touch with the flora and fauna of one of the largest Marine Nature Reserves in Italy. However, just 2 km away is the center of our beloved village, Le Castella, where you can reach the main attractions.
